DIVE SCHOOLS & CLUBS

Vobster Quay is a great place to bring trainee divers of all levels! Whether your students are taking their first steps in diving or you're running a cutting-edge rebreather course, you'll find Vobster has much to offer.
We made some big changes to our school administration system in the aftermath of lockdowns, with group registration and booking, plus reserved benches and free spaces. Based on your feedback, these changes have made diving both easier and more pleasant for groups and students so we've talen the decision to keep them in place moving forward.

With new school and club groups appearing and new group organisers taking responsibility for some old groups, we thought a concise summary of what's on offer and our procedures would help.

Whether you are the organiser of a new group wanting to come to Vobster or an old group touching base then read on!

GROUP MEMBERSHIP LEVELS
Vobster Quay offers three levels of group membership to visiting dive schools and clubs - the level of which is dependent on the number of paying student divers you bring through our gates over a 12-month period.
All schools and clubs start at the BRONZE membership level with a review taking place each year typically around late Autumn. The PREMIER and SILVER membership levels are only available after your first year. Please provide your School or Club's agency registration number upon application.

Each school, club or group will be allocated a single login using an email address of their choice. This is usually the admin for a dive school or training officer for a club. This log in will give the group administrator the ability to create group bookings - a feature not available to standard dive membership holders. Please note that multiple logins are not available.

PREMIER

OUR FAST & EASY PROCESS
MANAGING YOUR GROUP BOOKINGS
Managing your group bookings via our online portal is very easy to use. Below you'll find an easy to follow, step-by-step guide to how the system works the steps you need to take to make it work for you...
All groups need to book in advance through the portal at app.vobster.com before their arrival at Vobster Quay. To book a session, simply log in as your group via our booking portal, pick a session and book a group.

Initially your group booking will be restricted to six (including instructor and divemasters), but this can be increased by emailing Vobster Quay to request for more spaces - if they are available, we will increase the number of visitors allocated to your booking.

Once you have successfully created your group booking, you'll be given a code for that session. The 'Group Lead' (the individual who will be responsible for the group) is automatically added to the booking. Once you have created your new group bookings, we ask that you follow these steps...

  • Please send the group booking code to ALL OTHER divers who will attend your booked session.
  • The 'Group Lead' is the group ID - this can be used by the lead instructor on the day. This person DOES NOT need to use the booking code to book themselves into the group.
  • The divers who have completed our terms & conditions to join the booking will show on your group login - please ensure all your divers show on this list or it will delay your check in and diving. Any diver not displayed on the list has not completed the neccessary steps to book themselves onto your group booking.
  • Divers who do not show on your booking will not contribute towards your free instructor spaces.
Making your life easy!
Managing your group bookings through our online booking portal helps us to make life easy for you and your students by:

  • Allocating reserved kitting up benches for your students
  • Planning enough staff to ensure we can deliver great service
  • Preventing overcrowding
  • Ensuring your divers have completed all paperwork (our terms & conditions, for example) in advance for super quick check in
  • Tracking your diver numbers to gain group membership upgrade
  • Tracking your diver numbers to gain free instructor entry credits
Please let us know if you need to book the confined water area - this is often in demand and therefore needs to be booked in advance.

One important note to remember - divers who book themselves in separately from your group booking will not count towards your free instructor spaces. If you wish them to count, they should use your booking code to add themselves to your group booking.

Additionally, please be aware that parking is allocated on a first come, first served basis to all Vobster members whether they are part of a group or not. There is no parking benefit to Vobster members making their own booking.

Finally, non-divers such as your surface support staff should also be added to your group booking and will need to register themselves - and complete our terms & conditions - via your booking code. Note that surface support staff will not count towards your free instructor spaces.
WHAT TO DO ONSITE
YOUR GROUP ON THE DAY
You've created your group booking and you've emailed all your divers the unique code to allow them to add themselves to your group. Now what? Read on to find out what to do when you arrive on site...
Our opening hours vary depending on the season. During the Summer months and at weekends, afternoon divers should remain in the queue OUTSIDE THE GATES until our staff indicate that the afternoon dive session is open. More detailed information can be found on our opening hours page - check this page for latest updates.

If your group is visiting us on a weekend, you will be sent a plan showing the car parking and benches reserved for you. Any members of your group that have not been allocated a parking space must park their vehicles in the main car park or in the car park at the top of the hill. Drop off is available for those parking up the hill. Benches will be labelled with the name of your dive school - please avoid 'kit spread' by staying within the area allocated to your group.
Free Entry for Instructors
All divers (including instructors) will be expected to pay the day diver entry fee on each visit. For every four paying students an instructor brings with them, one free instructor entry will be credited to your group membership account.

If you do not bring along four paying students on a given day, the number of students who visit via your group booking will accrue and can be used to gain free spaces on future visits. Note that free spaces can only be used by your instructors or divemasters.
Once parked, all divers and surface support in the group should head to the shop and check-in. Each member of your group will receive a band with a unique tab number. It already has their entry and ID on it and can also be used to purchase food, drink and gas.

During sign in, the lead instructor should inform our staff that they are the 'Group Lead'. They will be given a special tab with the following properties...

  • This special 'group lead' tab is used to allocate any free spaces that the instructor may have gained. One free instructor space is credited to this tab for every four paying students on the group booking.
  • This tab will show the number of free spaces available, including rolled over 'part spaces' from previous visits.
  • Any staff members you wish to allocate a free space to needs to be transferred onto this tab by shop staff. You will need tab numbers (not just names) for this. Simply bring the tabs in and the shop staff will sort this out for you.
  • Any gas which you'd like your group membership discount to apply against should also be put on this tab in the gas station at the time of filling - discounts cannpot be applied retrospectively.

IMPORTANT - Please make sure your students know if they will be paying entry or not. We will ONLY allocate free spaces to tabs transferred onto the group lead's tab by the group lead themself.

DON'T BE A SPACE HOG!
NEED TO CANCEL YOUR BOOKING?
Please let us know if you need to cancel your group - we always have demand for those extra spaces and want to ensure that as many divers get the opportunity to dive as possible. If you have any questions, queries or need further assistance with the booking process, do not hesitate to get in touch! We're here to help.
